MSHAs new guidelines (the final rule) for metal and non-metal mines is going into effect on June 2, 2018. One big requirement of the new rule is that at the beginning of every work shift, a responsible individual must examine the work environment, checking for health and safety hazards. If any hazards are found, action to fix the problem must be taken immediately
Corrective action can sometimes mean that miners are removed from the environment where there is a hazard, as long as they are notified of the hazard. There are no changes to this requirement from past directives. Every mine-managers objective is to make sure each of their employees go home to their families safe.
formHound is an app designed specifically for use in mining environments, can be easily deployed to help all such responsible individuals perform inspections on workplaces, equipment, environmental and safety processes and notify appropriate supervisors and superintendents when required.
