The rules around examinations of Working Places in Metal and Nonmetal Mines is the final rule that the US DOL's Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) is putting into effect and it will start on June 2, 2018.
If hazards are found when inspecting a workplace, action to fix the problem must be taken immediately. Miners on the site must be notified of hazards that are not corrected before the miners are exposed to them. If there are conditions that may cause imminent danger to anyone in the mine, the area must be evacuated until the hazard is removed. There is no change in this requirement for this aspect of the regulations.
